Advertising

All my advertising seems to be on track. I am doing 3 above the line print campaigns which are a two part series.
I am also do a series of tv commercials, hopefully my rendering will be up to scratch!!!
My below the line is advertising on the back of train, ferry and bus tickets. With a very simple series of text. Depending on the destination the text will read Town Hall via Timbuktu or St Marys via St Jean de Luz and so on. These are to get people curious. My other below the line is a series of stamps with pictures of exotic locations combined with elements of my logo.

These ads are for an optician in Belgium. Clever and funny.

Revised print ad which would feature as a two page spread. I think I still need to play around with the type as I don’t feel it’s standing out enough. I also changed the tag line.

I came across this recently and thought it was really beautiful. Another great example of how simple can be so effective.

General idea for my ad campaign. Using ‘western’ pieces (food, musical instruments, ceremonies) and comparing them with other cultures.

After talking to Nathan he suggested I don’t need as much text (remove same same but different) and maybe not all the photos. I have to play around with it, as well as colour and placement etc. This was a rough mockup.

Advertising

When planning an advertising campaign the key is to make sure each piece of advertising compliments each other; same theme and linked by the same style.

Advertising on TV has its pros and cons. TV isn’t too effective unless you spend a lot of money, in saying that it has it’s benefits which are it connects with a very wide audience and it saturates the market. A major con is you can’t change it quickly as you can with print.

Radio is another form of advertising which also has advantages and disadvantages. The main disadvantages are it’s often used as background noise, people don’t usually intentionally sit down and listen to it like TV. It can also be a non fluctuating audience. A advantage is it’s a lot cheaper!

Ok this… horrifyingly funny, but creepily weird

So so weird!!!!

(this post was reblogged from corkers)

I have included this jeep ad as I am a bit concerned about trying to find high res photos for some of the pictures I have in mind for my advertising for example tribes in Africa. This jeep advertisement is a lovely way of displaying a picture by using something other then a photo to get the point across in this case; dirt, which is very appropriate to the brand.

Great ad for spreadable butter.
The target audience would be toast eaters! Its really effective as its bold, to the point and humorous.
I would love to create my advertising this simple and quick to get the point across.

Different Direction

After yesterdays class I was a bit worried that my advertising may be a bit bland. So I decided to recap and came up with a slightly different idea.

What do I want to promote?

* My organisation SNAP.

Why?

* To teach children about international culture.

Targeting?

* Middle to upper class parents predominately on the northern beaches, to donate money or time.

Premise

* To show that learning about culture is important to a child’s education.

Concept for print ads-

* A series pictures of a certain situation which can be read differently in different cultures. Example; a picture of a mouse with the word pest, next to a picture of a mouse on a running wheel with the word pet followed by a picture with barbecued mice and the word delicacy.

The headline being ‘Same same but different’.

The tag line is yet to be decided, something along the lines of ‘Understanding World Culture’ or ’ An education doesn’t just happen in the class room’.

This concept I could spread over a range of subjects, like weddings, sport, art and music.
